Original Works Order Forms Are HERE!!!!!

Spring Has Sprung!

Spring has sprung!! We have entered the home stretch. It is hard to believe that we are already in the 4th marking period. 2-6th period 1st semester students and 1st-6th period 2 semester students made an Original Works project. I sent the projects off to Original Works last week. If you are not familiar with how this works, students make the artwork. I mail it off. The Original Works company digitally scans/photographs the artwork and sends the artwork and a website +code for each student back. Then, students, families, friends, relatives, all have the chance to order cool products with each students' original artwork featured on it. Keep your eyes open!! We will get this back the first week of April! In the meantime, check out their website and plan ahead--these items make great Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthday gifts. https://www.originalworks.com/store/ This is also a fundraiser for the art room! Funds go to supplement the art budget and buy cool art materials for our students to experiment with.

Iconography!

I take Byzantine Style Iconography lessons in my free time and had the privilege of attending an iconography workshop as a student for a week with a master iconographer in September 2016. I worked on the Guardian Angel icon at that time. I was able to present about Byzantine iconography and egg tempera paint to third period World History students as they are studying Byzantine times, the Great Schism, and the Iconoclast in class.

Welcome!!

Welcome to my semester 2 students! I am excited to meet you and start the new semester with you. Please have your supplies and your SIGNED "Important Art Information Sheet" by Monday, January 9. If for whatever reason, you are unable to provide supplies for yourself please let me know privately and I will see what I can do. The supply list can be found in the tabs at the top of my webpage and my "Important Art Information Sheet" was sent home 1/3/2017 and is also a tab on the top of this webpage.
